Whiteboard is currently seeking a Creative Director for our graphic design and brand development group. This is an opportunity to lead a team responsible for print graphics, packaging, branding, and interactive/multimedia projects for a diverse range of clients.
Strong drawing and free-hand sketching skills are a big plus, as is a willingness to be hands-on in concept, design and direction of all department creative.
To qualify for the Creative Director position, you must possess:
- Bachelor of Arts, or greater, in a design related discipline
- 10-12+ years of experience including print, multi-media, consumer packaging
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Strong conceptual and creative skills
- Expert skill level in Adobe CS: Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
Responsibilities include:
- Manage all graphics department projects from concept to completion, translating marketing objectives into creative strategies and directing the creative team.
- Lead the graphics department direct sales efforts to existing WhiteBoard clients and new/potential clients, identifying needs and communicating WhiteBoard services and benefits.
- Provide account management and project management services where appropriate.
- Work with graphic design staff and other departments to establish and monitor project budgets and schedules for graphic design, packaging, and POP projects.
- Continue to evolve the high quality and consistency of WhiteBoard’s own marketing communications tools.
- Maintain a clear understanding of evolving trends in the marketplace as it applies to all forms of visual communication.

WhiteBoard Product Solutions is a 30 person Eden Prairie, Minnesota based product development consultancy that supports a wide variety of industries nationwide, from medical, consumer, and sporting goods to electronics, fitness equipment and toys. We specialize in innovative design, engineering, prototyping, packaging and multimedia. We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our team, work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and grow with us.
Responsibilities:
- Originate and develop product concepts
- Meet with new and existing clients to develop design specifications
- Establish budgets, monitor, schedule, and coordinate projects
- Provide clients and other WhiteBoard departments with engineering support
- Analyze various production techniques and apply them to each product scenario
A candidate must possess the ability to:
- Carry a project from beginning to end including recognizing, preventing and resolving issues or conflicts that may arise during the course of the program
- Communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
- Multi task, simultaneously achieving results in the required areas
- Succeed individually and in a team environment
- Think on your feet with little direction
- Work effectively with creative individuals
Minimum position requirements:
- 3-5 years experience developing product
- A 2-year or 4-year technical degree and an incredible appetite to learn
- Superior Pro/ENGINEER or SolidWorks CAD skills
- A strong mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanism development
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes ranging from injection molding to sheet metal and the materials associated with those processes
- A high level of CAD surfacing ability
