Situation
Left with only nine months to deliver production units, it was not only a question of how it could be done, but also, who could make it happen. Issues like shielding, impact resistance, bio-hazardous material, calibrated mechanisms and low quantities also made the Magellan a real challenge. Medtronic turned to WhiteBoard. |
Solution
After numerous layouts, foam core models and renderings, a design was presented and a ProE database was built for 3D exploration. Soon, the investigation of materials and unique manufacturing processes were required to complete the design. After these ideas were incorporated into final engineering, the first engineering check model was constructed. WhiteBoard’s next challenge was to build eight working prototypes. Having successfully past the five hundred production unit mark, it is only a matter of time before this technology is a household name.
