One of the first and finest examples of our proven Form Follows Reality approach. Fitness Master’s goal was to create a mass market version of its specialty fitness market skier that could be made in America and cost less at retail than it’s competitor NordicTrack. Our key objectives were to create a new design that would fit into a person’s home environment, be able to shipped fullly assembled in a UPS box, be lightweight, as well as reduce manufacture, cost of goods, and shipping costs. Using our understanding of manufacturing processes, designers and engineers worked together to create a design that resulted in a 40% reduction in manufacturing (based on previous models), 80% reduction in assembly costs, a 300% increase in projected sales and ultimately a product that won multiple design and industry awards, including“Best in Category” by ID magazine.
